International Presbytery Lenten Bible Studies

Lent to Pentecost Bible Studies - Join Us!

Come and share in Bible Studies with friends from across the International Presbytery.

This study follows the words of Simeon as they unfold through the life, death, and resurrection of Christ. From the promise of light for the nations to the piercing sorrow of the cross and the hope of new life, we trace how God’s salvation is revealed step by step. Together, we reflect and prepare our hearts to walk the Lenten journey with deeper understanding and faith.

We will meet on Mondays 23 February; 9 and 23 March; 13 and 27 April; and 11 May 19.30-20.30, for an hour of reflection, conversation, and fellowship as we prepare for Easter and Pentecost.

All are welcome!

WRITING PRAYER POEMS FOR LENT 2026

Five years ago, Rev. Irene Bom wrote a series of prayer poems for Lent, inspired by the
psalms set for Sunday worship in the Lectionary. Irene plans to write a new series of
prayer poems, based on the psalms for Lent 2026, and invites others to join her.

The psalms for the Sundays in Lent 2026:

  1. 22 Feb - Psalm 32

  2. 1 March - Psalm 121

  3. 8 March - Psalm 95

  4. 15 March - Psalm 23

  5. 22 March - Psalm 130

  6. 29 March - Psalm 118:1-2, 19-29

Each week we will reflect on the psalm as a whole and then select a verse that resonates

with us personally to use as inspiration for our prayer poem - a prayer that incorporates
poetic devices.
